What has been your greatest learning experience? (in or out of school)
I learn new things from the students, staff, and families every day. Each person comes with unique background and set of skills, and I love that I can learn something each day because of this.
Who do you admire and why?
My parents have been together for almost 50 years. They raised 5 children together, and have strong relationship as well as individual personalities and interests. They have been excellent role models for all of their children.
I also deeply admire my husband. He moved to Vermont without ever driving a car before, or living outside a major city. Since we got married, he has mastered English (his third language), gotten his GED, completed trade school, and now works for the USPS. He is a wonderful father to our daughter as well!
What do you love about your current WSD position and the WSD community?
I am incredibly fortunate to be starting my new position as the principal at JFK. The diversity of the community, and the wonderful things happening in the WSD everyday make me excited about the 2015-16 school year.
