Lois_Thompson_featuredMy family moved to Vermont when I was in middle school. I attended Montpelier High School. Then I went to Lyndon State College for four years. My goal was always to become a teacher. After I graduated with my teaching degree and a big smile on my face, I taught fifth graders for four years in Hyde Park, a very small town in Vermont. I moved to Milton and taught sixth graders for another 4 years. I stayed home being a mom for awhile. I then got the best job of all; first grade in Winooski. The staff and families at JFK make it the best place to learn and teach.

Education and Professional Experiences
My family and I love to camp every summer with friends and family.
I enjoy the time I spend with my dog Molly; playing ball, taking long walks, or just quiet times rubbing her belly. I LOVE Zumba with friends and the challenge of long distance running.

What has been your greatest learning experience? (in or out of school)
My greatest learning experience is to never give up. Stay positive because you can do it!

Who do you admire and why?
I admire my dad. He is my hero. He always sees the positive in everything. He has helped me puzzle out my life and continues to do so. He is Mr. Sun Shine who makes my day happier everyday.

What do you love about your current WSD position and the WSD community?
First grade is an exciting grade to teach. The children are always striving and perservering to learn more and more. They are continually growing academically and socially. I love helping them grow. Winooski has so many students from many different places. I learn from them.
