Hearing & Vision Screening

According to Vermont statute title 16, chapter 31, sec 1422:

” Periodic hearing and vision screening of school-aged children shall be conducted by school districts and primary care providers pursuant to research-based guidelines developed by the commissioner of health in consultation with the commissioner of education.”

Kindergarten-hearing and vision
1st Grade-hearing and vision
2nd Grade-DO NOT SCREEN
3rd Grade-hearing and vision
4th Grade-DO NOT SCREEN
5th Grade-hearing and vision
6th Grade-DO NOT SCREEN
7th Grade- vision and hearing
8th Grade-DO NOT SCREEN
9th Grade- vision and hearing
10th Grade-DO NOT SCREEN
11th Grade-DO NOT SCREEN
12th Grade- vision and hearing

Screenings usually start mid September and will continue through December. Periodic screenings are done later in the year if requested by a parent, teacher or medical provider.
