Dear Families,

Welcome to 2019! Although it has been a short week, students and staff have been busy getting back into the swing of school.

As many of you know, we had some issues with the water over vacation. The issues have been fixed. The valve that was leaking and the pipe that had a hole have been fixed. The pipe will need will need further work in future, most likely when the weather warms up. Until that work is complete, we will have the new traffic pattern that is currently at the school entrance. The water has been tested, and came back as clean which means it is safe to drink the water at school.

January means The WOKO Big Change Roundup! This year, JFK will be running a unicorn contest to raise money for the University of Vermont Children’s Hospital through the Big Change Roundup. Starting January 11th, there will be jars in the front office with staff members names on them. The staff member that raises the most money by February 21st has agreed to wear an inflatable unicorn outfit for a day. There will be an All School Assembly on February 15th to reveal the “winner”. All of the money raised supports patients and families at the University of Vermont Children’s Hospital. The children at UVM Children’s Hospital are more than just patients. They are our family, friends, neighbors, classmates, and a huge part of our community. Start saving your spare change to send into school with your student(s).

Have a great weekend!

Sara Raabe

JFK Principal
