Our annual Big Change roundup contest has begun! The Big Change Roundup is run by WOKO and the Vermont Children’s Hospital every year. All of the money raised goes to the Vermont Children’s Hospital and is used to support children and their families. Each year, we have school staff who volunteer to be part of our contest. This year, the staff member that raises the most money gets to wear a tutu hippo outfit for the day. The big reveal will be March 27th during our All School morning Meeting. We encourage all of our families to join us that morning! One week into the contest, here are the current standings:

The 21CC JFK Summer Program is happening this summer and we cannot wait! The summer program is free and is a great way to keep your student(s) learning over the long summer break. All students will be provided a free breakfast and lunch during the summer program. The program is for elementary school students who will be in grades K-5 for the 2020-21 school year. Students who will be in grades 1st – 5th for the 2020-21 school year can go all 4 weeks. Students who will be in Kindergarten for the 2020-21 school year will be able to attend the first or second week only. Here is the registration form that you can print and send into school: Summer Registration 2020. This summer, the program will take place in the middle school from 8 AM to 12 PM on the following days:
July 6th- July 9th Monday- Thursday, 8 AM- 12 PM
July 13th- July 16th Monday- Thursday, 8 AM- 12 PM
July 20th- July 23rd Monday- Thursday, 8 AM- 12 PM
July 27th- July 30th Monday- Thursday, 8 AM- 12 PM
Students can participate only in the summer program, only in Thrive Summer Vacation camp, or both! Thrive is a state-licensed, 3 STAR childcare/enrichment program. Thrive provides a safe and enriching environment for students K-5 to play, explore, create, and build social and emotional skills over the break. Thrive will be based at WSD but also will take regular walking field trips. Thrive conveniently starts 2 weeks before the JFK Summer Program as well as runs on Friday’s and until 5:30 PM so your student(s) can go directly from the JFK Summer Program to Thrive!

June 29th- July 2nd Monday- Thursday, 8 AM- 5:30 PM
July 6th- July 10th Monday- Thursday, 12 PM- 5:30 PM and Friday 8 AM- 5:30 PM

Thrive costs $140/week for full day weeks and $75/week for half-day weeks and accepts state child care subsidies to cover the costs. We are happy to meet with families to complete these applications.
