I hope that everyone had a wonderful week with the cold weather really moving in. Winter is really here! If your student(s) need any winter gear, please let us know so we can get them what they need.
We return from break on January 2nd. Our January All School Morning Meeting will be Thursday, January 30th. The All School Morning Meeting will be on a Thursday this month because WOKO will be at JFK to help us kick off the Big Change Roundup! Each year, adults in the school volunteer to participate. This year we have 12 adults participating. Each adult has a bucket in the front office, starting January 30th. The adult that raises the most money by March 25th “wins” and gets to wear a costume for the day. In years past the “winner” has worn a T-Rex costume and a Unicorn costume. This year the students voted on their favorite costume. The costume that received the most votes will be revealed on January 30th. The “winner” of the Big Change Roundup, along with an announcement of how much money we raised, will be announced on March 27th at our All School Morning Meeting.
The Big Change Roundup supports the Vermont Children’s Hospital at The UVM Medical Center. Many of our students, community members, and/or neighbors have benefited from the services that the Vermont Children’s Hospital offers. We ask that students check with adults at home before bringing in change to add to an adult’s bucket. Please feel free to join us for these morning meetings. The students always have a fantastic time at both!
Remember that there is no school next week, or Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday the following week. We will see students and families back Thursday, January 2, 2020.
